About the Journal
About the Journal
Journal of Intelligent Systems, Control, and Applications (JISCA) is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal publishing original research and applied studies at the intersection of intelligent systems, control and automation, and applied artificial intelligence. The journal welcomes contributions spanning learning algorithms, classification and prediction, optimization and decision-making, modeling and system identification, controller design, and real-world applications in cyber-physical and industrial systems.
JISCA aims to serve as a high-quality outlet for both academic and practice-oriented work, including well-executed student projects that meet the journal’s methodological and reporting standards.
Focus and Scope
JISCA considers submissions in areas including (but not limited to):
-
Learning algorithms and intelligent computation: supervised/unsupervised learning, deep learning, representation learning, probabilistic learning, transfer learning
-
Classification, prediction, and analytics: model evaluation, interpretability, uncertainty quantification
-
Control and automation: classical/modern control, robust/adaptive control, MPC, learning-based control, safe reinforcement learning
-
Modeling and identification: data-driven modeling, system identification, estimation and filtering, hybrid and nonlinear systems
-
Optimization and decision-making: constrained optimization, planning, scheduling, multi-objective optimization, multi-agent systems
-
Systems and applications: robotics and autonomous systems, industrial automation, smart manufacturing, energy and power systems, transportation, IoT and embedded/edge AI, healthcare technologies, and other cyber-physical systems
Submissions should present a clear contribution and credible evaluation (theoretical analysis, benchmarking, simulation, experiments, and/or deployment evidence) appropriate to the topic.
Open Access Policy
JISCA provides immediate open access to its published content. Readers may access articles free of charge on the journal website.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors who publish with JISCA retain copyright to their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits use, sharing, adaptation, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited and attribution is given to the author(s) and the journal.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce any third-party material (figures, photos, tables, datasets, or substantial text excerpts) included in their submission and must provide appropriate credit and licensing information.
Peer Review Process
All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment for scope, clarity, and minimum quality standards. Manuscripts that meet the journal’s requirements are sent for single-blind peer review (reviewers remain anonymous to authors). Final decisions are made by the editorial team based on reviewer reports and editorial judgment.
Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
JISCA is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics. Authors must ensure originality, accurate reporting of methods and results, appropriate citation practices, and transparent disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding/support.
Where applicable, research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must comply with relevant legal and ethical requirements, including institutional approvals and informed consent procedures. Submissions that violate ethical standards (e.g., plagiarism, fabricated data, inappropriate image manipulation) may be rejected or retracted.
Data, Code, and Reproducibility
JISCA encourages authors to share data, code, and supplementary materials to support reproducibility. When public release is not possible (e.g., due to privacy, security, or proprietary constraints), authors should provide sufficient methodological detail and explain limitations on sharing.
